Korg N1/N5/X5D/X-Edit Update:

This is the new update for the original Korg editors that now work fully with Winevdm in Windows7/10/11.These were  originally only able to transmit patches and pcg information to the synths but not able to receive the midi information off the synths through the Dosbox setup that i made. You can now fully transmit and receive and edit the synthesizers.This was made possible by JayB's package.This version also has X-Edit in it as well.Download the zip file and launch the KorgEditors WineVDM.exe file located in the C drive of the zip file.Install this program to C:\OTVDM.You can now copy all the contents of the zip file to that directory and overwrite the files.Use the shortcuts located in the OTVDM directory.
Sound Tower Editor - Korg X5D

The X5D editor is now free to download over at the Sound Tower website.This editor can load sysex files as well as 05r files with full load and dump utilities and is super easy to use.It has full editing capabilities as well as a library for sorting out your patch lists.Sound Tower also has other stand alone editors for other Korg synths like the Triton and TR keyboards.The best editor i have found and worth getting a licensed copy for your synth.Works perfectly on Windows 10 64bit.

Emagic Sound Diver

The ultimate stand alone editor for a heap of old synth's albeit elusive.Many people were after this mainly because the older editors died off with Windows 3.1 and 95.If you need a universal editor that will work with a ton of different older synths then Sound Diver is the ticket.This has full editing capabilities plus library as well as heaps of other useful tools.Simply scan for your midi device and it will locate the gear and you can set it up.It does take a little bit to get your head around the layout but once you do its really the best all-in-one editor ever made.This version also has an extra add-on support for more synths.Change the properties of the soundiver.exe file to Windows XP Service Pack 2 compatibility for everything to look and work as it should.This is what currently use to edit my Korg X5DR, N1R & Triton Rack.

PCG Tools

Developed by Michel Keijzers, PCG Tools is mostly a librarian.This software is great for customizing and organizing your patches or saving to new PCG files.The Triton and X50 both use PCG files (either loaded from floppy if you have the triton or USB for the X50) so this is a must have if you own one of these synths and plan on sorting your patches into banks.
